SUMMARY:Film "Danka" and meeting with director Dovilė Gasiūnaitė
DESCRIPTION:Being an adult is difficult. Especially difficult if you are only fifteen y
ears old. DanutÄ— is the only "adult" person in her family. Clearly\, for a
teenager facing non-childish difficulties every day\, this is an overly co
mplex task. At the Tallinn "Black Nights" Film Festival\, "Danka" was award
ed the Grand Prize of the International Youth Competition Program. Director
Dovilė Gasiūnaitė delves into the development of the so-called gifted c
hild\, revealing his distinctive vitality\, ingenuity and creativity. The r
ecognizable atmosphere of the film creates a sensitive and compelling narra
tive\, in which memorable leading roles are played by non-professional acto
rs\, bringing the story even closer to viewers. The film reveals the comple
x everyday life of vulnerable groups in society\, develops attentiveness an
d empathy for young people growing up in difficult conditions\, invites ref
lection on the challenges facing peers\, which fall much closer than may se
em at first glance\, the importance of friendship and support. Recommended
for high school students. Genre: Drama Duration: 104 min. Rating: N13 Direc
