SUMMARY:Nalšia Ensemble Concert “Dainuoju Širvį”
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKET\n\nConcert of romance and love songs “Dainuoju Širvį”.\n\n
Romances\, love songs\, and retro music are currently popular\, in demand\,
and have their own audience\; they are often heard in different spaces and
at different times. They are performed by various artists – from folklor
e ensembles to opera soloists.\nWith love and admiration\, the folklore ens
emble “Nalšia” also weaves romance melodies – sometimes conventional
ly\, “in the old style\,” and sometimes daring to depart from authentic
traditions of music-making and singing\, choosing newer sounds and interpr
etive paths more familiar to today’s listener. For several years now\, th
e ensemble has sought to give romances a second life\, elevating them to th
e level of works worthy of a high musical culture: starting with the words
 – singing the lyrics of the best Lithuanian poets – and ending with mus
ic-making together with jazz pianist Rytas Linge\, who enriches the romance
arrangements with new\, unexpected colors.\nThis is exactly the newest “
Nalšia” program\, “Dainuoju Širvį”. The exceptional lyricism of th
e most beautiful verses by poet Paulius Širvys\, the depth of his experien
ces\, and the poet’s extraordinary personality captivate\; the poems seem
to beg to be sung. The synthesis of great poetry and the most beautiful ro
mance melodies beloved by people stirs the hearts of NALŠIA’s singers an
d\, we hope\, will leave listeners indifferent as well.\nWe will also gladl
y present the long-developed\, eagerly awaited new compact disc of romances
and love songs of the same title\, released on the occasion of the ensembl
e’s 35th anniversary. Emotionally rich\, melodic P. Širvys’ lyric poet
ry\, already heard in the voices of “Nalšia” singers for nearly a deca
de\, has finally been immortalized and can be reached by everyone who loves
both his poetry and romances. And for us\, Širvys remains a true bard\, t
ruly sung\, seemingly still waiting near Vilnius\, near the city of fairy t
 ales...\n“Nalšia” sings Širvys:\n“Sartų žuvėdra”\n“Jūreivis
 ”\n“Krito žiedlapiai”\n“Žiburiai”\nDoors open: 1 hour before th
