Film “Julien”
“Julien”
After a fateful meeting, Fleur and Julien plunge into an intoxicating romance – crowned by an ambitious promise: to marry in every country in the world where it is legal. Their love journey across continents becomes not only a personal celebration but also a quiet political rebellion. However, after the fourth wedding, a ruthless diagnosis cuts short their romantic plan. From now on, the women’s mission is not only to cross borders, but also to fight for the ability to give meaning to every remaining shared moment.
“This is an adaptation of the autobiographical book by Belgian writer Fleur Pierets, telling the true love story of two women without borders. The film sensitively reveals the fragility and resistance of queer relationships in a world that still does not allow free love. This story could have become a political manifesto, but became a subtle portrait of devotion, loss, and endless love.” (Program curator Benita Paplauskaitė)
