A new musical project “Gala Stars”: theatre, classical music and entertainment will meet on one stage. This autumn, Lithuanian music and theatre enthusiasts will have the opportunity to experience a new, magnificent project “Gala Stars”, bringing together three different worlds of the stage. Singer and actress Oneida Kunsunga, singer Vaida Genytė and singer known as the “gentleman of the stage” Egidijus Sipavičius, together with a professional string quartet, pianist Giedrius Nakas and guitarist Kostas Balčiūnas will present an elegant programme, where classical music, old cabaret melodies and theatre aesthetics will intertwine. The concert will feature songs performed by actors: Kostas Smoriginas’ “Birds”, Saulius Mykolaitis’ “The Matrix”, works from Lithuanian musicals – “The Devil’s Bride”, “Love and Death in Verona”, as well as from film classics: “Gladiator”, “The Greatest Showman”. However, Lithuanian cabaret melodies will not be forgotten: “Walnut Blossom”, “Field Flower”, “Summer, Summer”. Unexpectedly, the Italian cabaret piece “Bella Ciao” and Egidijus Sipavičius’ own composition “Disco” will also sound in a string arrangement together with Vaida Genytė and Oneida Kunsunga. The creators of “Gala Stars” promise an evening where music matters, but also the atmosphere, so new arrangements of works, refined and subtle scenography and exclusive costumes are being created especially for this project, and all this will allow the audience to immerse themselves in a festive, elegant musical journey. “I wanted to create a concert where different genres of music and theatre would meet, but would be united by a lofty, festive emotion. The evening’s dramaturgy is created so that each performance is an independent experience, and the entire event is like a coherent, elegant narrative”, says Oneida Kunsunga. In the evening’s programme, classical arias and well-known pop music melodies enriched with string arrangements will sound in new versions. The entire programme is arranged like a musical narrative – from touching and nostalgic moments to impressive climaxes. Vaida Genytė says that the uniqueness of this project lies in the meeting of different performers. “All three of us are very different, so unexpected musical dialogues are born on stage. I think that’s what makes this programme special – each of us brings our own colour to it, but together we create one common story”, says the performer.
