Seminar “Northern Aukštaitija sutartinės Tradition” dedicated to World Sutartinės Day

On November 17–18 in Raubonys, Pasvalys District, a theoretical-practical seminar “Northern Aukštaitija sutartinės Tradition” will be held, dedicated to World Sutartinės Day. Folklore collective leaders, culture and education professionals are invited to learn about the Northern Aukštaitija sutartinės tradition, delve into the peculiarities of their singing and skudučiai (traditional wooden instrument) playing, and try practical methods. Knowledge and experience will be shared by ethnomusicologists Prof. Dr. Daiva Vyčinienė and Rima Visackienė, sutartinės group leaders and tradition custodians. Registration is open until November 5 of this year. Let’s continue the sutartinės sound together – so that the ancient tradition lives on, unites generations and resonates in the future!
