BECOME A JEWELER AT ZYPLIAI MANOR!

On October 24 at 1 PM, we invite you to exclusive jewelry workshops at Zypliai Manor, where the historical manor environment meets Baltic heritage, blacksmithing traditions, and contemporary creativity. This is not a usual education but an opportunity to experience the jeweler’s craft in the authentic space of Zypliai Manor – to take metal in your hands, feel its properties, and create your own unique jewelry piece from copper or brass.

The workshops are suitable for both first-time participants trying jewelry making and those with experience. Each time you can choose a different technique, form or creative idea, making each work unique and one of a kind. During the workshops, you will try jewelry techniques based on blacksmithing principles – hammering, wire twisting and bending, creating surface patterns, sanding and polishing. You will learn about Baltic jewelry forms, ornaments and symbols and become acquainted with copper and brass and their traditional uses. You will also have the chance to try metal oxidation – an aging technique. You will create your chosen piece of jewelry – a ring, earrings, a brooch, a pendant, or even a complete set. The education will be led by folk artist, jeweler, and the founder of the brand “Žalvario Jūra,” Jurijus Mochnačiovas, who has been creating unique jewelry for over 30 years, and his daughter, second-generation jeweler Marija Vaitiekienė.

Duration – 2 hours. Price – 35 Eur/person. For participants aged 12 and up. All materials needed for creation are included in the price, and you will take home the jewelry you created after the workshops. The number of places is limited, so prior registration is necessary.
