Choir Evening

EVENT IS FREE

In Germany, there is a strong tradition that after finishing a professional career, people do not retreat but continue to actively volunteer, dance, sing, etc. Many Germans join choirs together with younger colleagues. Each federal state in Germany has its own choir association, and these associations are united by the federal choir association of all Germany. Both at the state level and federally, many events are organized annually, choirs travel a lot, get acquainted with the culture of other countries, and hold joint concerts with local choirs during their trips.

ELAN Touristik GmbH and its director Matthias Thissen have been organizing trips for German choirs to Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia for several years now. Usually, they stay in Kaunas for 2-3 days. Various excursions are organized for the arriving groups, where they get acquainted with the city’s history and culture. One day is also dedicated to a joint concert with local choirs. This time, the Polizeichor Bruchsal will arrive. A total of 47 choristers and 30 accompanying persons. A joint concert with the Kaunas Cultural Center choirs “Gintaras” and “Diemedis” is scheduled for October 24. Doors open: 1 hour before the event. Event duration: ~ 1 hour 30 min.
