A cult-favorite play, “Striptizo ereliai,” tells the story of six unemployed men from a small Lithuanian town. Tired of wearing out the park benches day after day for little benefit, one of the friends gets an idea for finding something to do and earning money: the friends decide to become striptease dancers… It is no surprise that the start of their “new career” not only demands enormous willpower, but also endangers their long-standing friendship. This play, based on the play “Ladies Night” by dramatists Stephen Sinclair and Anthony McCarten, was first performed in 1987 in New Zealand – and became the most profitable play in world theatre history of all time. The play has been translated into twelve languages, and in 1990 and 1994 it became the most popular tourist attraction in England. The 1997 English film “Striptizo ereliai” (eng.
