The concert will feature songs created to his verses – both well-known and beloved by the audience, as well as rarely heard or completely new works, created by composers Galina Savinienė, Giedrius Kuprevičius, Benjaminas Gorbulskis, Gintautas Tautkus, Laimis Vilkončius and other authors. For more than two decades, we have constantly returned to the works of Justinas Marcinkevičius in our concerts, so this evening will be not only a journey of music, but also of personal memories and reflections. We will share thoughts about the poet, the meaning of his work and its place in our lives, about how his verses matured in our hearts and on stage through long years of communion with listeners. Singer Liudas Mikalauskas conveys the poetry of J. Marcinkevičius with particular sensitivity and impact, and pianist Beata Vingraitė has been connected to the poet’s work by a close bond formed since childhood. This collaboration brings exceptional sincerity and authenticity to the concert. To commemorate the fifteenth anniversary of the poet’s death, we released a vinyl record featuring only songs created to the texts of Justinas Marcinkevičius. During the concert, we will not only present this special publication to Lithuanian listeners, but also invite you to hear the poet’s words once more, words that speak today about man, love, homeland and hope.
