DISCUSSION “HOW TO PREPARE FOR DAY X?” | MARIJAMPOLĖ

How to prepare for potential crises? What can each of us do to contribute to the security of our city and state? This will be discussed on November 9 at 18:00 at the Marijampolė Cultural Center in an open discussion “Day X Without the Unknown: Marijampolė”. During the event, we will discuss Lithuania’s security situation, preparation for potential crises, and what security means for the city of Marijampolė and the local community. During the discussion, we will talk about challenges in case of crisis, the role of institutions and citizens, specific preparedness actions, psychological resilience, and the ability to act together. Discussion participants: • Robertas Kaunas, Minister of National Defense; • Col. Danas Mockūnas, Commander of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Military Commandant’s Office; • Nerijus Mašalaitis, Director of Marijampolė Municipal Administration; • Capt. Marius Gricius, military psychologist. During the discussion, there will be a question and answer session – anyone who wishes can directly ask questions to the speakers and receive answers to their questions. During the event, a photography exhibition “Lithuanian Armed Forces in Photography 2026” dedicated to the memory of war photographer Tadas Dambrauskus will also be officially opened. It presents shots revealing soldiers’ daily service life, moments of celebration, military equipment and weapons. Venue: Marijampolė Cultural Center. Discussion time: November 9, 18:00.
