Opening of Linas Kaziulionis exhibition “Evidence”

On September 4, Friday, at 17.30, the exhibition “Evidence” by Linas Kaziulionis opens at the Exhibition Hall of Klaipėda Culture Communication Centre (KKKC), Didžiojoje Vandens g. 2, featuring works from different periods and creative cycles by the artist. They are united by L. Kaziulionis’ characteristic interest in the human relationship with information, the narratives it creates, and our ability to distinguish reality from fiction. The exhibition runs until September 27. The overload of information we receive every day can not only inform, but also mislead, exhaust, or shape our beliefs. This tension is reflected in L. Kaziulionis’ painting itself. Visual attractiveness becomes not only an aesthetic choice, but also a way of speaking about attention – how it is captured, directed, and how it can shape our relationship with reality. The artist does not seek to provide final conclusions or reveal a single specific “truth.” Using symbolism, mysticism, irony, and ambiguity, he deliberately does not separate reality from fiction and leaves room for the viewer’s personal interpretations. The exhibition becomes a kind of experiment, exploring not only what information we accept, but also why we are inclined to believe it. It invites us to take a closer look at the images and narratives around us and to reflect on how much of the reality we perceive is based on facts, and how much on interpretations, emotions, and stories constructed by others. Linas Kaziulionis (b. 1993) is a painter and street artist, a master’s student at the Vilnius Academy of Arts (VDA), who won the prize for the best young Baltic painter in 2022. He actively paints on canvas and is valued for his recognizable bright painting style, excellent command of color, insightful themes, including large-format mural drawings.
